Got questions? We’ve got answers. Here’s pretty much everything you need to know about recording at our studio:
How do I book a recording session?
You can visit our booking page to view open slots and book a session.
Once we receive your booking request, we’ll email you a confirmation and later an online payment request. And we’ll contact you if we need more information.
We’ll have the studio room set up for you and your guests, if you’re bringing any, before you arrive to record. All you have to do is arrive on time and get comfortable. If you have any questions, please email us: studio@recordatx.com
Where are you located?
We’re located at 5555 N. Lamar Blvd, Suite H105, in North Central Austin, in the Lamar Business Park just behind Half Price Books.
The studio is an appointment-only facility. Please book a visit or a session online or contact us to schedule an appointment.
Will you help me record my podcast, audio, or video project?
Of course! A Record ATX producer is on hand to answer any questions, monitor your session and make sure all the tech and gear is set up and runs smoothly for your recording session.
The producer completes a quick tech/gear setup before you arrive, performs a short audio and video check with you, and goes over everything you need to know before each recording session. The producer also initiates and finishes the recording process for every session, which includes handling of all recording gear.
The producer will also transfer your audio/video files to a private cloud folder where you can access them remotely following your session.
How does the studio record my audio?
We record in multitrack with digital audio software and pro mixers/audio interfaces. This means every microphone being recorded has its own audio channel or track, and every channel/track results in an individual studio quality, 24 bit WAV audio file. So, for example, if your party of three records in our studio, you will receive three separate, synched studio-quality WAV audio files.
We also provide a stereo mixdown file that features all recorded tracks. And we record a backup session on a digital audio recorder. Does this sound complicated? No worries, we make it easy!
How does the studio record my video?
We capture isolated video files for every Sony mirrorless camera in use in studio. After your session, our producers deliver you a single video file with camera views automatically switched to feature who is speaking, We will also deliver all of the raw, isolated camera files at your request.
We can also integrate intro and outro audio clips, custom graphics (including your logo), and can livestream (optional) your video to most platforms. Want to integrate a live remote video feed via a platform like Streamyard, Riverside.fm or Zoom? We’ve got you covered!
Can a remote guest or co-host call into the studio?
Yes, your guest(s) or co-host(s) can call into the studio remotely and we can integrate their video and audio feed into your recording.
What happens to my audio/video after a recording session?
Following your session, we will transfer your files to a private cloud folder where you can access them remotely. Please allow up to 12-24 hours after your session ends for files to arrive in your inbox, as upload times and producer schedules may vary.
Please note: Let us know if you need your files sooner, and we’ll do our best to expedite our process. We archive your session files for thirty days.
How many people can I bring to my recording session?
Our studio recording rooms are typically set up to record up to four people at a time.
Please note: If you need more than 4 people on cam/mic at the same time, there will be an extra $55 setup fee for each additional guest
